“You know, in our culture today, our Western, reductionist, Roman, linear, fragmented… culture, we don’t ask how to make a pig happy. We ask how to grow it faster, fatter, bigger, cheaper, and that’s not a noble goal.”
– Joel Salatin

We are passionate about the concept of marveling in the beauty of the pig-ness of the pig. We believe that keeping our pigs on pasture or in woodland lots with low stocking densities is crucial to their well-being which in turn increases fertility, overall health, and reduces the amount of artificial inputs that we as their keepers are forces to add. Our business model is strongly formed on the foundation that our animals wellness is an invaluable resource which both decreases our financial burden and increases our ability to sleep at night.

We are committed to the conservation of the breeds and their genetic heritage. We plan litters with the intent of bettering the offspring of our breeding stock that we keep on-farm. We are careful to only breed the best examples of conformation or f1 hybrids and pride ourselves on being able to achieve some wonderful piglets!

Our Mission

Our experience with our pigs has emboldened us to diligently work towards conservation, sustainability, and cultivation of the KuneKune pig while exploring husbandry and hybrid avenues that enhance the marketability of this culinary pork lovers dream meat.
